..one day i decided

OK so I am gettin bored of waiting for my next session of lifedrawing, and I was skyping to my besties when I had an idea.
I thought I'd attempt to draw portraits using the pencil tool, They are so higgilty pigglty but I really like them, they are almost childlike.
( -Yeah I totally need to get myself a graphics tablet lol)

I'd love to capture the naked form like this now that I have experimented with my friends faces.
it's gettin late now, so I'll have to wait and see! :D

Jack

ok so this is Jack, he has GREAT ideas
-and I dunno what I'd do with out him!

Nelson

Nelson is my dub step dancing, red wine drinking, citroen driving chum!
He's awesome because he's let me borrow his Pokemon edition of the
nintendo 64 while he is off travelling the world ! He is also cool, 'cus he
is as mental as me.

Bex

This is my best friend and I love her dearly.... this really doesn't give her justice..
she is even beautiful-er than this in real life¬! :D

Nick

...For those of you who don't know or those of you who
are now forced to know
-this is my brother Nick

Can anyone smell feet?

I really enjoyed drawing these studies. I was really pleased with the outcomes. Since these drawings I have worked on tone and line drawings so my lines are more confident and less sketchy.
I remember the feeling I had when I first showed people these studies, and even though i have moved a lot further on from these I still break a huge smile when some one says they like these drawings.

These are some drawings I did back in 2007 when I was attending art college.

These were the attempts I made at drawing feet using pen and inkfor the first time.. they were surprisingly successful.

need to get ON IT!

I really miss life drawing sessions,
hopefully I can sneak in on some second years sessions,
I'll wear a really big hoody and try to blend into the background!
I need to photograph my older work

-it really is crazy to see how much you can develop in such a short period of time.

Mixing it up...

...don't you mean masking it up?
I started with smaller studies this session, and I think
they are successful , I like the use of tone and masking tape
and the way that the studies are ordered to make an abstract
form of the model.

Again I have incorporated masking tape into the structure
of these drawings, it gives a new texture and linear aspect
to the form, I used a blue watercolour to create shadow,
I am not sure why I chose this colour but I think it works
really well

-These are drawings of a much skinnier model,
I like the foreshortening in this, but I think I could
have exaggerated it more if I was looking at her from
a lower angle (more the the right)

I love drawing the human form, i love the complexity of our design and the challenge of producing artwork that contains soul.

more to the Recycled series...

I like the use of masking take, old envelopes and used
newspaper, to give depth and texture.

I really enjoyed drawing from this pose, there are lots of good angles and curves,
the linear aspect from the newspaper columns acts as great negative space.
